If you’re new to blackjack and want to practice the game for free, you should give 888 Casino Blackjack a try. Start playing this game and you’ll soon get to grips with how black jack works. Placing your bets
Since the game is completely free to play, you use virtual chips to bet with. These come in the following denominations: 1, 5, 25 and 100. The minimum amount you can bet with is one chip, while the maximum is 250 – you’re able to choose any combination of chips so long as you don’t go over 250. Once you’ve decided your betting amount, simply click on Deal in the bottom centre of the game screen to start the game.
Rules
After clicking on Deal, you’ll receive two cards. All numbered cards are worth their face value. All face cards are worth 10 and aces are worth either one or 11.
The aim of the game is to get closer to 21 than the dealer. Whoever gets a hand worth 21 wins, though if the other player also has 21 it’s a tie. But beware! If you go over 21 you automatically lose.
Once you’ve received your first two cards, you’ll see three options appear directly beneath your hand. These are: Double, Hit and Stand. If you want an extra card, choose Hit; if you’re happy with your hand as it is, choose Stand and you won’t receive any more cards; if you choose Double, your bet will be doubled, you’ll receive an additional card and you’ll then have to Stand.
The dealer has to Hit on all hands worth 16 or less, and Stand on all hands worth 17 or more.
